Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep burnished amber with mahogany depth and a warm copper glow.

Nose

Rich, indulgent nose of thick maple syrup, molasses and dark chocolate, interlaced with damp leaves, while black cherries and other stone fruits lend a bright, fruity lift.

Palate

Chewy and thick on the palate, chocolate-covered dates mingle with maple syrup and toffee apples, all tempered by a lively chilli spice that lingers.

Finish

Long, velvety finish, lingering with dark chocolate and sticky toffee pudding, underscored by a gentle chilli spice.

Teaninich
(TEA-an-in-ich) Teaninich was founded in 1817 by Captain Hugh Munro on his estate near Alness in the Highlands, making it one of the earlier legal distilleries of the Scotch whisky era. Ownership changed several times during the 19th and early 20th centuries before the distillery passed into DCL in 1933, placing it within the business that eventually became part of Diageo.
