Tasting Notes

Nose

A lifted bouquet of barley malt and vanilla pods, grassy and floral, with delicate Parma violets weaving through a meadow-like aroma.

Palate

Balanced sweetness, hints of charcoal and hay, more syrupy barley, roasted nuts, a little citric.

Finish

Maltiness persists, eucalyptus, off dry with a touch of nougat amongst the citrus in the aftertaste.

(TEA-an-in-ich) Teaninich was founded in 1817 by Captain Hugh Munro on his estate near Alness in the Highlands, making it one of the earlier legal distilleries of the Scotch whisky era. Ownership changed several times during the 19th and early 20th centuries before the distillery passed into DCL in 1933, placing it within the business that eventually became part of Diageo.
