Cask 541 was originally an American oak hogshead seasoned with Oloroso sherry for a 2 year period prior to filling back in 2016. In 2019, it was deemed that this cask was at risk of becoming over mature, so the whisky was re-racked into refill Hogsheads. These refill casks have slowed the maturation process down nicely to produce an exquisite 5 year old bottling.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany depths and a warm copper glow.
Nose
Opening with stewed, rich dried fruits, raisins and dates, unfurling into treacle, butter and toffee. Subtle wisps of tobacco drift in toward the end, adding an old-world, cigar-box edge as the sherry lingers.
Palate
An initial blast of sweet tobacco, fresh herbal notes and spices gives way to creamy, sweet buttery tones, leaving a soft, indulgent coating on the palate.
Finish
A medicinally sweet finish that lingers softly, leaving a whisper of tobacco and spice on the palate.
