Tasting Notes

Nose

Forest fruits rise with blackcurrant sorbet and cherry jam, intertwined with aromatic wood spice and toasted vanilla; rich mocha adds depth, while a cooling touch of menthol mingles with savory truffle and marzipan for a polished, luxurious aroma.

Palate

Hot and dense with huge sweet nuts, toasted spice and rich sherry oak with notes of dark berries, fruit and nut chocolate, cherry cake, fig jam on brown toast.

Finish

Mouth filling spice, dark honey roasted nuts, fruits of the forest cordial, rich toasted vanilla.Amrut attempt a Glendronach or Macallan style of single malt with supercharged sherry cask flavours.

Amrut
Amrut was founded in Bangalore in 1948 by J. N. Radhakrishna Rao Jagdale, shortly after Indian independence. The company began as a producer of Indian-made spirits before developing into one of the most important names in Indian single malt whisky. Its current main distillery is at Kambipura, around 20 kilometres from Bangalore, and was built in 1987.
