Amrut Kadhambam 3rd Edition Indian Single Malt Whisky
In stock
Amrut's 3rd release in this series, Kadhambam means 'mixture' or 'combination', and this Amrut is a vatting of normal and peated Amrut that started life out in ex-oloroso casks before being transferred first into brandy casks, then into rum casks (both the rum and brandy having been produced at Amrut also!). A uniquely curious whisky that is full of flavour and thrilling vibrancy.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a copper-gold glow and a subtle mahogany hue.
Nose
Aromas unfold with peat smoke rising beside oloroso-sherry sweetness: fig, raisin and dried apricot mingle with orange zest and vanilla. Brandy and rum cask maturation impart toffee, caramel and coconut while soft oak and spice add depth, yielding a vibrant, layered nose that hints at complexity and playfulness.
Palate
On the palate, a voluptuous fusion of sherry sweetness, peaty depth and complex cask influence. Silky yet vibrant, notes of fig and dried plum from oloroso mingle with brandy-cask caramel, vanilla and almond, while rum cask nuance adds coconut, spice and a tropical brightness. A warm, slightly smoky finish lingers with cocoa, orange zest and pepper.
Finish
Long, warm finish with sherry-driven sweetness from the oloroso, mingling with dried fruit and vanilla. Subtle peat smoke threads through, while brandy and rum cask influence impart velvety spice, caramel and cocoa. The oak persists, leaving a bright, spicy warmth that lingers and slowly fades.
