Tasting Notes

Nose

Comes out with light smoke and sweet peat on the nose along with hints of pear, apple, and caramel.

Palate

There is barbecue sweetness, as well as nutty, earthy notes.

Finish

A touch more peat, plenty of green apple, and nectarine on the finish.

Westland was founded in 2011 in Seattle with the aim of making American single malt whiskey that reflected the Pacific Northwest rather than copying Kentucky bourbon or Scotch whisky traditions. The distillery is based in Seattle’s SoDo neighbourhood, and Westland continues to distil there while ageing whiskey in Washington State’s Skagit Valley. Rémy Cointreau acquired Westland in January 2017.
