The fourth release in Westland's Native Oak Series, and Garryana 4.1 showcases whiskey aged in Quercus garryana, which is also known as Garry oak, native to the Pacific Northwest.
The whiskey was matured in five different cask types, with rye casks (29%), new (19%) and refill Garry oak (7%), Pedro Ximénez (16 hogshead and bourbon casks (29%) all contributing to the flavour profile. Only 3,750 bottles available for the 2019 edition.

Colour
Deep amber with copper-bronze highlights and a mahogany edge.
Nose
Custard and blackberry syrup take center stage, swirled with dulce de leche and a subtle, savory undercurrent that adds depth and a touch of warmth.
Palate
Layers of dried blueberries and fudgesicle sweetness weave with fresh oak, as grilled plum accents emerge, delivering a balanced mid-palate of fruit and wood with a softly charred, vanilla-kissed finish.
Finish
An extended, warming finish with Garry oak's resinous grip and mixed cask whispers. Toasted oak lingers alongside grilled plum and dried blueberries, while fudgesicle and cocoa notes melt into a savory rye-spice echo. A soft vanilla sweetness coats the palate, leaving a refined, oak-dusted memory.
