Undisclosed Irish That Boutique-y Whisky Company Batch #2 Single Malt Irish Whiskey 12 Year Old
Out of stock
A second batch of That Boutique-y Whisky Company's Irish Single Malt.
This time, they've bottled a 12 year old single malt whiskey - but they're still keeping the distillery it came from a secret (but you don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to work out this will be from either the Cooley or Bushmills distilleries.
The label depicts Aeneas Coffey (1780–1839) who was an Irish inventor, distiller and excise man who patented the Continuous still or indeed now known as the Coffey still being given short shrift by the Irish distillers of the day with his idea to introduce his still into Ireland where the Pot Still was considered the only true way of distilling Whiskey.
Batch 2 is a release of 429 bottles.
Classic Irish Ex-Bourbon cask matured single malt, very easy drinking and think the words "adult milkshake" sprang to mind when thinking of a one line tasting note for this! Makes a change from my usual term of "breakfast whiskey" for this kind of style i guess?

Golden amber with sunlit honey hues.

Vanillin wood with light sawdust, pink wafers and white nougat; airy meringue on crème anglaise evokes floating islands, while candyfloss sweetness lingers with green grapes, biscuits, toasted marshmallows and sugared almonds.
Palate
Creamy, milky oak coats the palate, carrying white chocolate muffins, custard cream biscuits, vanilla milkshake, apple bon bons and pears in syrup. Subtle baking spices and ground almonds lend a soft, nutty warmth.
Finish
Vanilla and almond milkshake linger, joined by toasted oak and pear drops; a dry finish dusted with custard powder or icing sugar on green apple slices.
