Torabhaig Taigh is the first permanent core release from the Torabhaig Distillery on the Isle of Skye. This softly peated single malt has been matured in a combination of bourbon and wine casks, bringing both sweetness and complexity to the spirit.
The whisky offers a balanced character of gentle woodland smoke and coastal embers layered with baked apple, maple syrup and warming clove and cinnamon spice. Silky notes of vanilla custard, toasted almonds and dried fruit develop into a finish of toasted oak, red berries and lingering, delicate peat smoke.

Tasting Notes
Nose
On the nose, a distinct smokiness is initially apparent, accompanied by earthy aromas. These are joined by hints of oak and freshly baked apple pie. A delicate sweetness from maple syrup leads to juicy raisins. Spicy accents of cloves and cinnamon, as well as a touch of pastry, provide additional depth and exciting contrasts.
Palate
On the palate, Torabhaig Taigh presents itself as light and mild on the start. Smoky notes are prominent and combine with a pleasant sweetness of vanilla. Roasted almonds and dried fruits unfold behind this, giving the whisky structure and a harmonious balance.
Finish
The finish is medium-long and characterized by toasted oak and noticeable tannins. Red fruits remain present, accompanied by spicy nuances of cinnamon and cloves that slowly fade away.
