Deep amber-gold with copper-tinged mahogany and a warm, glossy glow, hinting at sherry-cask maturity.

Nose

Bright citrus notes of lemon and orange lead the aroma, with vanilla mingling with clean oak. In the background, banana and green apple add a subtle fruitiness that lingers with a poised, refined sweetness.

Palate

A woody onset with citrus lift, balanced by sweet oak and malty depth; the palate unfolds with measured richness and a refined, lingering finish.

Finish

Medium length, fruity and oaky with a subtly drying finish that lingers.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
