The Macallan Red Collection is an exquisite range of eight remarkable and rare single malt whiskies, shaped by the actions of The Macallan's founder Alexander Reid and key characters in their history.
The Macallan Red Collection reflects theire deep respect for time, tradition and craftsmanship. It is a celebration of the rich range of reds present naturally in The Macallan - in every step of the process. The distinctive red colour weaves its way through their history, starting with the name of their founder Alexander Reid - literally “The Red”, to The Macallan’s ‘Choice Old’ range released over a century ago in 1903, through to Allan Shiach marking vintage bottles of The Macallan with a red ribbon in the 1980s.
The oak presentation box is crafted by hand in the UK, using the same sustainable European Oak Macallan use to make their casks. The box has been beautifully upholstered with sustainably sourced, soft scottish leather from our renowned partners, Bridge of Weir Leather.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber with mahogany undertones and ruby highlights; a warm, opulent glow that hints at decades of oak and sherry maturation.
Nose
Bright orange zest and grapefruit rise, mingling with dark chocolate. Hints of antique oak and wood spices entwine with fig and poached pear, unfolding a layered, time-honed aroma.
Palate
Ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon with vanilla. An effervescence with malty notes and fig.
Finish
A long, refined finish where delicate wisps of woodsmoke drift over soft oak and spice, lingering with a contemplative warmth.
