The Macallan Red Collection is an exquisite range of eight remarkable and rare single malt whiskies, shaped by the actions of The Macallan's founder Alexander Reid and key characters in their history.
The Macallan Red Collection reflects theire deep respect for time, tradition and craftsmanship. It is a celebration of the rich range of reds present naturally in The Macallan - in every step of the process. The distinctive red colour weaves its way through their history, starting with the name of their founder Alexander Reid - literally “The Red”, to The Macallan’s ‘Choice Old’ range released over a century ago in 1903, through to Allan Shiach marking vintage bottles of The Macallan with a red ribbon in the 1980s.
The oak presentation box is crafted by hand in the UK, using the same sustainable European Oak Macallan use to make their casks. The box has been beautifully upholstered with sustainably sourced, soft scottish leather from our renowned partners, Bridge of Weir Leather.

Colour
Deep burnished copper with ruby-tinged amber tones and a velvety mahogany edge.
Nose
Fresh fruit medley of apple, peach and grape rises with lime and verbena, while antique oak and soft leather anchor the aroma. A luxurious thread of dark chocolate and dried fruits—dates and raisins—unfolds, finishing with a warm, inviting vanilla cake note.
Palate
Spiced oak begins with nutmeg and ginger, merging into rich dried fruits—raisin, prune and date—with a touch of almond nuttiness. The oak stays warm and dry, carrying treacle toffee and a baked-apple sweetness into a long, resonant finish.
Finish
A long, contemplative finish where every note from nose and palate returns in a seamless, lingering echo. Dried fruits, treacle toffee and oak spice intertwine with vanilla warmth and baked apple sweetness, lifted by a hint of citrus. Rich, refined and unforgettable, this finish embodies the Macallan’s time-worn elegance.
