The fifth batch of Tamdhu's excellent cask strength Single Malt has arrived. Matured exclusively in Olororso sherry casks, this is a rich and complex Whisky that is bottled at natural cask strength, with natural colour and without filtration.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with warm coppery glints and a touch of mahogany.

Nose

Brazil nuts mingle with cinnamon and wafts of warm vanilla pods, a rich, inviting opening that hints at the cask-strength depth to come.

Palate

Double cream sweeps across the palate, lifted by sharp summer berries; with a drop of water, citrus notes, oak and freshly baked cookies unfold.

Finish

A warming finish where spices swell and gradually give way to the crisp sweetness of clentine zest.

Tamdhu
(Tam-Doo) Tamdhu was founded in 1897 at Knockando in Speyside by a consortium of blenders led by William Grant, with Charles Doig responsible for the distillery’s design. It passed to Highland Distillers in 1899 and, like a number of Scotch whisky sites, spent long periods silent during the 20th century, including a lengthy closure from 1927 until 1947.
