Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with coppery mahogany undertones and a warm, sherry-kissed glow.

Nose

Cinnamon-spiced oak opens the nose, then praline sweetness and vanilla sponge emerge, a warm, confection-like harmony with subtle sherry oak depth.

Palate

Raspberry pavlova coats the palate with lush berry creaminess; water reveals apricot and lemon, while a fresh wave of oak adds lift and structure, echoing the sherry-cask maturation.

Finish

A lasting ribbon of oak spice dries to reveal baked figs, then bright, freshly peeled clementine, leaving a warm, citrus-kissed finish with a touch of sweetness.

Tamdhu
(Tam-Doo) Tamdhu was founded in 1897 at Knockando in Speyside by a consortium of blenders led by William Grant, with Charles Doig responsible for the distillery’s design. It passed to Highland Distillers in 1899 and, like a number of Scotch whisky sites, spent long periods silent during the 20th century, including a lengthy closure from 1927 until 1947.
