Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a warm mahogany glow.

Nose

Sherry oak envelops the nose: apple pastry with spiced currants and orange, followed by pineapple and fennel, all woven with a warm, nutty oak sweetness and refined spice.

Palate

Intense yet balanced on the palate, sherry-influenced Tamdhu unfurls apple pastry, spiced currants and orange, then reveals pineapple and fennel. Warm, velvety sweetness with subtle spice lingers into a long, refined finish.

Finish

Long, sherry-oak finish with warming spice and dried fruit. Orange zest and currants linger, while apple pastry meets pineapple and fennel, ending on a refined, lingering sweetness.

Tamdhu
(Tam-Doo) Tamdhu was founded in 1897 at Knockando in Speyside by a consortium of blenders led by William Grant, with Charles Doig responsible for the distillery’s design. It passed to Highland Distillers in 1899 and, like a number of Scotch whisky sites, spent long periods silent during the 20th century, including a lengthy closure from 1927 until 1947.
