Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with copper highlights and a tawny mahogany edge, a bronzed, sunset glow.
Nose
Sea-salt smoke and maritime brine rise from the glass, paired with sherried dark fruit—prune, fig, and plum—plus cocoa and leather. Peaty spice, cracked pepper, and vanilla-tinged oak mingle with a mineral, ocean-air brightness.
Palate
Maritime peat unfurls across the palate, tempered by iodine-brine and a teasing pepper heat. Sherry-matured sweetness—dried plum, fig, treacle, cocoa—drifts through vanilla and oak. A mouth-coating oil from the natural cask strength gives dense texture and warmth, while maintaining balance between smoke and sweetness. The finish is long, peppery and saline, with a lingering charred citrus note.
Finish
An elegantly restrained, long finish that lingers with sea-salt and gentle peat, while sherry sweetness and dark cocoa emerge. The high ABV stays impeccably integrated, fading into a refined, smoky warmth with whispers of leather and dried fruit.
