Talisker is excited to unveil its latest limited-edition release, The Wild Blue – a Single Malt Scotch Whisky crafted by the sea on the rugged Isle of Skye. Drawing inspiration from Talisker’s coastal home, this expression is Talisker’s first whisky finished in rare Atlantic coastal red wine casks from South Africa, imparting a remarkable depth of flavour during a meticulous sixteen-month maturation process. The result is a distinctive Talisker expression that beautifully blends maritime smokiness with rich, deep fruit notes.

Colour
Deep amber with warm copper highlights and a subtle ruby hue, hinting at the red-wine finish.
Nose
Sea-salted maritime smoke meets iodine-soaked air, coaxing the senses toward Talisker’s coastal core. Rich dark fruit notes—ripe fig, sultana, plum—unfold with a subtle red-wine lift from the finishing casks. A creamy vanilla thread, warm spice, and a faint mineral edge linger, completing a coastal, luxurious aroma.
Palate
Creamy-smooth on the palate, a bold initial sweetness quickly gives way to saline coastal smoke and dark fruit. Mid-palate unfolds notes of sultana and fig, woven with peppery spice and a lingering, maritime smokiness.
Finish
Long, maritime finish where Talisker’s smoke and sea-salted air linger, weaving ripe fig and sultana sweetness with a peppery, warming spice. The Atlantic red-wine cask influence leaves a coastal resin that slowly fades into a lingering, saline warmth.
