Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, dark amber with mahogany depth and coppery highlights, a glossy sherry-bronze glow that hints at the Oloroso cask finish.
Nose
Opulent, sherried nose rich with dried fig, raisin and date, lifted by orange zest and almond paste. Caramelized toffee, vanilla and oak weave through hints of spice—cinnamon and clove—while polished grain and a whisper of leather lend a refined, cask-strength warmth.
Palate
Concentrated and velvety, this Strathclyde offers dried fruit richness—fig, prune and raisin—blended with burnt caramel, toffee and dark chocolate. Orange zest, almond and vanilla lift the mid-palate, while clove, cinnamon and espresso spice the finish. The full, oily mouthfeel coats the tongue, with cask-strength warmth lasting alongside refined Oloroso sweetness.
Finish
Long, opulent finish of dark fruit and fig, braided with toasted almond and dark chocolate. Cinnamon and clove spice thread through a warm, sherried sweetness, while orange zest and leather fade in and out. The first-fill Oloroso lingers with velvety richness, tapering to a persistent, plush finish that coats the palate.
