Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany and copper-bronze undertones, a warm, wine-dark glow.
Nose
Coastal smoke and waxy malt form a maritime core, lifted by rich sherry sweetness. Dried fig, raisin and date mingle with red-berry hints from the port cask, while almond, cocoa nib and Christmas spice add depth. Velvet oak lends vanilla and leather, with a saline breeze nodding to Campbeltown seas.
Palate
Silky and full-bodied, the palate reveals a rich sherry- and port-driven sweetness of dried fruit—raisins, fig, prune—brightened by orange zest and toffee. Subtle peat and coastal smoke weave through saline notes, while vanilla spice (cinnamon, clove) and dark chocolate linger, finishing long and balanced with warming oak.
Finish
Extends with a luxurious, sherried-spice crescendo. Dried fig, date and cocoa linger, woven with port’s sumptuous sweetness. A coastal restraint and light peat knit deepen into toasted almond, caramelized sugar, and gentle pepper, fading to a warm mulled-fruit glow that lingers softly on the palate.
