Springbank Campbeltown Single Malt Whisky (Old Bottling) 10 Year Old
In stock
Springbank 10 Year Old Old Bottling is a collectable earlier presentation of the classic Campbeltown single malt, presented in the distillery’s distinctive cream-coloured packaging. Bottled at 46% ABV, this discontinued edition offers both an opportunity to explore an older style of Springbank whisky and an appealing addition to a collection of historic distillery bottlings.
Produced at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, the whisky reflects the characterful production methods for which the distillery remains renowned. Springbank carries out the entire whisky-making process on site, including floor malting its barley, distillation, maturation and bottling. Its distinctive two-and-a-half-times distillation creates a spirit that combines weight and texture with fruit, gentle peat smoke and unmistakable maritime character.
Matured for 10 years in oak casks, this earlier bottling brings together rich malt sweetness, coastal salinity and restrained peat smoke. Sherry-cask influence adds dried fruit, almond and subtle cocoa, while vanilla, toffee and citrus provide freshness and balance. The result is a complex Campbeltown single malt with the oily, waxy texture and rugged coastal style closely associated with traditional Springbank whisky.
The nose opens with sea air, brine and gentle peat smoke, followed by lemon zest, crisp green apple and sweet malt. Vanilla and toffee develop alongside dried fruit, toasted almond and a touch of cocoa. On the palate, the texture is silky and waxy, combining honeyed vanilla, orange zest and toasted barley with sea salt, light smoke and warming oak spice. The finish is long and maritime, leaving dried fruit, toffee, mineral notes and a softly smoky warmth.
Presented in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV with its original cream-coloured box, this old Springbank 10 Year Old bottling has become increasingly sought after by collectors. It remains equally appealing to drinkers interested in comparing an earlier distillery release with the modern Springbank 10 Year Old.
