Crafted at Japan's Shizuoka distillery, which began operations in 2016, this single malt whisky is produced using 100% imported barley and distilled in historic ex-Karuizawa stills. Aged in a mixture of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, the result is a rich, fruity and complex cask strength whisky.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Clean, sweet, and complex, with a peanutty note blending into subtle dry oak. Honey, caramel, and vanilla gently emerge, followed by a unique minerality that adds a hint of austerity. A whisper of ashiness lingers in the background.

Palate

Oily and smooth, with rich caramel and honey, balanced by mild peppery heat. Creamy rose syrup and a faint ashiness appear, finishing with cocoa powder and a return of minerality.

Finish

Elegant and dry, with oak and a touch of mint, tied together by lingering minerality.
