Tasting Notes
Colour
Bright straw gold, evolving into sunlit amber with honey hues and a coppery glint.
Nose
Delicate coastal aroma of sea breeze and malt, woven with honeyed orchard fruit, vanilla and subtle toffee. Gentle almond notes mingle with pear and apple, while warm oak and a whisper of citrus zest keep the scent bright and refined, echoing Scapa’s elegant Orcadian character.
Palate
On the palate it unfurls with silky malt sweetness, delivering orchard fruit and pear drop, braided with honeyed barley and a whisper of vanilla. Sherry cask maturation lends a generous, raisiny depth—fig, a touch of dried fruit, and almond marzipan—balanced by a light maritime edge and gentle oak spice. The finish is long, warm, and softly charry, leaving toffee, citrus zest, and a lingering salute of oak.
Finish
Long, elegant finish with sea-salted caramel, dried apricot and almond paste, carried by a gentle sherried warmth. Ginger and clove tease the fade, while warm oak and toffee linger, leaving a refined coastal echo that invites the next, slow sip.
