Distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2020, this 30-year-old Rosebank was released by Gordon & MacPhail as part of the renowned Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength series. Matured in a refill sherry hogshead (cask #2561) for three decades, the cask yielded 175 bottles, bottled at a natural 55% ABV.
Rosebank Distillery, located in Falkirk in Scotland’s Lowlands, was founded in 1840 and was famous for producing an elegant and highly refined style of whisky, traditionally triple distilled. The distillery closed in 1993, making historic casks like this particularly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of “silent distillery” whiskies.

Colour
Pale gold, sunlit straw with a delicate honey sheen and a subtle amber edge.
Nose
Intense honeysuckle and stewed fruit lift the nose, carried by sweet honeycomb and fresh-cut grass. Tart orange marmalade unfurls, with raspberries crowned by indulgent milk chocolate.
Palate
Floral and herbal notes unfold into aniseed with a subtle chilli bite. Sweet honeyed orange zest mingles with grassy hints, leading to roasted coffee and a trail of golden syrup.
Finish
A long, lingering finish of warm spice and aniseed, carried by a rich, honeyed sweetness.
