Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a coppery glow and a hint of mahogany; warm, honeyed gold that glows bronzed in the glass.
Nose
Peat smoke unfurls over sea-salt and iodine, a maritime kiss of ash and oak. Sherry-matured sweetness threads through dried fig and raisin, with cocoa, roasted nuts, and a final whisper of vanilla.
Palate
Powerful peat and coastal smoke cloak the palate, met by marine brine, iodine and mineral bite. Dried citrus, treacle and dark chocolate unfold with a touch of sherry sweetness as leather and toasted barley add depth, finishing long, dry and peppery with lingering saline warmth.
Finish
Long, peaty finish with coastal brine and iodine, slowly yielding to vanilla and oak spice. A resinous, drying echo lingers, carrying the Port Ellen maritime character with refined grace.
