Port Charlotte Cooper's Choice - Single Cask #1036 Whisky 9 Year Old · 2004 Vintage
Out of stock
Great value single cask Port Charlotte which is a more heavily peated (40ppm) single malt from The Bruichladdich distillery and considering the PC9 goes for well over £200 that makes this 9 year old a steal. Refreshing coastal citrussy peat with notes of white pepper, ashy pear and apple and subtle vegetal and chilli flake heat. Lovely dram of Islay for those that dont like the peat too medicinal.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich copper-gold with a sun-bright amber core and a warm, honeyed rim.
Nose
Coastal peat with a bright citrus lift greets the nose. White pepper and ash mingle with crisp pear and apple, while subtle vegetal notes and a hint of chili heat add depth, delivering a clean Islay character that stays away from medicinal overtones.
Palate
Coastal, citrussy peat on the palate, with white pepper and ash underpinning crisp pear and apple. Subtle vegetal notes mingle with a whisper of chilli heat, delivering a bright Islay character that remains balanced and clean, avoiding medicinal edge.
Finish
Long, maritime finish with coastal citrus and peat lingering. White pepper and ash leave a crisp edge, followed by hints of pear and green apple. Subtle vegetal notes and chilli-flake heat weave through, fading to a dry, lightly smoky afterglow.
