Nikka Single Cask Coffey Grain #209699 Whisky 15 Year Old · 1999 Vintage
Out of stock
Produced using the two Coffey stills at Miyagikyo, Nikka produce two grain whiskies as part of their core range.
They have also released a number of single cask releases of Coffey 'Grain' and 'Malt' whiskies that are very rare and highly collectible. These use older stocks and are bottled at cask strength.
This example was made using corn rather than malted barley, and spent 15 years maturing in a single ex-Bourbon cask. It was bottled for La Maison du Whisky in Paris.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with warm honey hues and a sunlit bronze glow.
Nose
Vanilla and coconut cream rise with creamy corn grain, tempered by warm, well-polished oak. Citrus zest and honeyed pastry illuminate subtle toffee and almond, while gentle spice threads through, finishing with a soft praline sweetness from the ex-bourbon cask.
Palate
Full and creamy on the palate, with vanilla and coconut from the ex-Bourbon cask underpinning ripe orchard fruit, maple and toffee. A delicate almond note lifts the sweetness, while the 63% adds a warming, peppery spine. The grain texture remains silky and coating, finishing long with toasted oak, citrus zest and a whisper of spice.
Finish
Very long, creamy finish of vanilla and caramel, fading into toasted oak and delicate spice. Coconut and citrus notes echo softly as warmth lingers, leaving a refined, enduring sweetness.
