Nikka have pulled out 'ALL' the stops on this one. Malts from Yoichi and Miyagikyou as one would expect but then Nikka have added malt form their Coffey stills as well which are traditionally used for grain whisky production.
A very moreish level entry introduction to the delights of Japanese whisky and the ever so reliable Nikka range.

Colour
Golden amber with a warm copper-bronze core and honeyed, sunlit glow.
Nose
Soft and inviting, a delicate bouquet of fresh cereal, honey, toffee, cookies and apricot.
Palate
A mellow delivery with notes of pears in toffee, malty grain, spiced vanilla, flapjacks, milk chocolate and a touch of waxy orange.
Finish
Subtle spice lingers with a creamy warmth, as buttery toffee and honey entwine with vanilla, finishing on a mocha note that glides long and smooth across the palate.
