Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery mahogany undertones, a warm, wine-dark glow.
Nose
Opulent Mortlach nose, polished oak and lush sherry frame a deep core of fig, plum, and raisin, with burnt caramel, dark chocolate, and toffee. Leather, tobacco leaf, and spice drift in, revealing restrained elegance born of centuries of maturation.
Palate
Silky, opulent on the palate, this 70-year Mortlach unfurls sherried depth with fig, prune and candied orange over a bed of toffee and dark chocolate. Spices—cinnamon, nutmeg, a hint of clove—knit into polished oak, leather and tobacco. The mouthfeel is sumptuous and enduring, with a long, warm finish that lingers on dried fruit and cocoa.
Finish
An exceptionally long, velvety finish infused with sherry sweetness—rich fig and raisin fruit giving way to cocoa, toffee and gentle spice. Oak and leather linger, with a warm, refined echo that slowly fades.
