Mackmyra Svensk Ek is matured for 7-9 years in Swedish oak, ex-Oloroso, and ex-Bourbon casks. Sweet and fruity at first with a dry, savoury, spicy finish.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden amber with warm honeyed tones and a coppery glint.

Nose

Sappy oak and ginger lead to milky rice pudding, with flinty minerality and smoked almonds. Subtle elderflower and lime lift the aroma against a gentle earthy undertone.

Palate

Toasted vanilla frames the first kiss, followed by ginger biscuits and herbal lozenges. Aromatic spices swirl with ripe orchard fruits, while stewed apple and pear lend a soft, mellow sweetness that lingers on the palate.

Finish

Sweet and lingering, a finish of rice pudding and gingersnaps with vanilla, sappy oak, lime pie, pear drops and sugared almonds.
