Mackmyra Moment Brukswhisky DLX II is a limited-edition Swedish single malt whisky created as a more mature and luxurious interpretation of the distillery’s classic Brukswhisky. Distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2021, this nine-year-old expression was released as part of Mackmyra’s acclaimed Moment Series, which showcases distinctive small-batch whiskies selected for their character, maturity and individuality.

The whisky brings together spirit matured for between nine and eleven years in a carefully chosen combination of ex-bourbon barrels, sherry casks and Swedish oak. Each cask type contributes a different layer of flavour: ex-bourbon wood adds vanilla and soft orchard fruit, sherry casks bring raisins and deeper fruit sweetness, while Swedish oak introduces warming spice, structure and a distinctly Scandinavian character.

Maturation took place within Mackmyra’s Bodås Mine warehouse, where the cool and stable underground environment encourages slow, controlled development. This unusual maturation location has become closely associated with Mackmyra’s innovative approach to Swedish whisky production and gives Brukswhisky DLX II an added sense of provenance.

Bottled at 44% ABV, the whisky balances ripe fruit, gentle sweetness and restrained smoke without overpowering its more delicate citrus and orchard-fruit notes. Only 1,999 bottles were produced, making this a compelling release for collectors of Mackmyra whisky, followers of the Moment Series and drinkers looking to explore premium Swedish single malt.
