The 2018 Mackmyra Moment bottling. Efva is a single malt whisky produced from a creative collaboration with jewellery designer, Efva Attling. Following a tour at Mackmyra’s main storage in Bodås, Efva has – together with Master Blender, Angela D’Orazio – handpicked 19 casks, mainly Oloroso, American oak and ex-Bourbon barrels, a majority of which had been saturated with Swedish birch tree sap wine. After a request to create more prominent sweetness, resulted in the use of a cask which had previously held cherry wine.
The result is a sophisticated and fruity whisky, with soft notes of oak and birch, combined with slight spicy tones of red berries. The edition is ornamented with a polished silver cork, designed by Efva.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery sheen and a warm honey-gold glow.
Nose
An exuberant nose of fruity sweetness with subtle spice and oak, mingled with berries and floral notes, citrus brightness, chocolate, ginger, and a hint of pear fudge.
Palate
Fruity with round oak, subtle spiciness and red berries. Undertones of blossom, pear fudge and white pepper mingle with soft tobacco leaves and vanilla. Lightly oily, medium-bodied on the palate.
Finish
Long, soft finish with a spicy berry glow that lingers gracefully.
