Mackmyra Skordetid MASI Swedish Single Malt Whisky
Out of stock
Mackmyra Skördetid was partially finished in Masi Costera Amarone wine casks, resulting in a whisky with sweet, vinous notes of red grape, raisin, and with a herbal spiciness.
Skördetid, which is Swedish for “harvest time”, is the result of close collaboration between Mackmyra and the Italian wine producer Masi, and is available in limited quantities.
This is the first time Mackmyra have presented a seasonal whisky with a Masi Amarone cask finishing. Using the wine to set the tone, Skördetid has a soft and spicy character that is suited to autumn and winter.
The whisky was initially matured in the Bodås mine in Sweden in Mackmyra casks between 2008 and 2012, and subsequently (a high proportion of the whisky) spent a final six months of finishing in Masi casks.
