Mackmyra Distillery was founded in 1999, becoming the pioneer of Swedish single malt whisky. Known for innovative maturation techniques and locally influenced production, the distillery often uses a mix of bourbon casks, Swedish oak and sherry casks, with maturation sometimes taking place in their unique underground warehouse at the Bodås mine.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Amber-gold with warm coppery glints and a honeyed, sunlit glow.
Nose
Soft vanilla with caramel, honey and chocolate. Finely roasted, bready oak with spicy herbs, a touch of tobacco leaves, leather, white pepper and eucalyptus. Gentle hints of pear and citrus, with a raisin sweetness.
Palate
Silky, buttery vanilla caramel coats the palate, with ripe pear and citrus brightness. Soft, herbal spices mingle with anise and pepper, while faint roasted oak, peat and juniper add subtle depth.
Finish
Long and elegant, the finish lingers with buttery vanilla caramel and pear-c citrus echoes, unwinding into herbal spice, anise and pepper. Roasted oak and a touch of peat hold the palate as juniper, tobacco and leather fade into a refined, warming afterglow.
