Mackmyra Moment is a series of whiskies from our most exclusive casks, hand-picked by Master Blender Angela D’Orazio. This is the 14th release and has been matured in a mixture of French Bordeaux casks, cloudberry wine casks and Swedish oak for an incredibly rich and complex taste. This is one of our favourite whiskies so far in 2015. An absolute stunner of a dram. A robust and chewy edition of this ever impressive distillery, smoked/cured meats with preserved dark fruit, treacle and earthy spice.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a honeyed glow.
Nose
Opulent, smoky bouquet with cured meat and char, layered over dark fruit—plum, fig—touched by treacle. Subtle cloudberry brightness weaves through the richness, while warm earth and spice from Swedish oak and Bordeaux cask influence underline a luxurious, complex nose.
Palate
Robust and chewy, with ember-smoked meats and preserved dark fruit riding over treacle-sweet depth. Earthy spice and layered oak bind the profile, while a hint of cloudberry brightness keeps it vibrant, finishing long with smoky caramel and refined tannic grip.
Finish
Long, smoky finish that lingers with treacle and preserved dark fruit, tempered by earthy spice and a kiss of Swedish oak, fading into a velvety, chewy tail.
