A 30 year old St Magdalene which was issued in 2004 as part of Diageo's annual Special Release series.

A now long closed distillery from the Lowlands that is known as both Linlithgow and St magdalene.

Featured in Ian Buxton's 101 legendary whiskies you are dying to try but (probably) never will book.

Wow..so fresh and fragrant for a 30 year old malt at 59.6% ABV, a pancake day of a malt. Simply Gorgeous!

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with copper-bronze hues and a touch of mahogany.

Nose

Crepe suzette and candied tropical fruit lead, with pineapple on the griddle and lemon icing sugar; thyme-dusted garden herbs weave through the aroma, finished by playful, sugared bonbons.

Palate

Orange fondant and pancakes with runny honey meet bright pineapple, all carried by an oily, herbal body.

Finish

Fresh and vibrant, lemon and thyme, runny honey, pancakes with tinned orchard fruit in juice.
