Out of stock
Linlithgow is pehaps better known as The St Magdalene distillery that was a Lowland distillery in East Lothian and closed for good in 1983 having been established as long back as 1795.
Very few official bottles of either name exist from this lost distillery which makes this 26 year old single cask Independent release bottled by Direct Wines of Laithwaites wines fame a welcome addition to our range.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery glow and mahogany edges, a warm sherry-kissed bronze.
Nose
Sherry-driven aromas unfold with dried plum, fig and raisin, brightened by orange peel. Dark cocoa and coffee lend depth, while warm leather and cedar rise from the oak, a touch of tobacco and spice—cinnamon and clove—finishing with resinous, polished wood.
Palate
Silky, sherried palate with dark fig and raisin, draped in cacao and toffee. Orange zest lift, cinnamon and clove spice, and polished oak frame a long, warm finish of dried fruit, mocha, and refined tannins.
Finish
Long and velvety, the finish is richly sherried, lingering with dried fruits, orange zest, and almond. Cocoa, peppery spice and warm oak weave through the palate, tapering to a refined sweetness and a whisper of leather and tobacco as the memory fades.
