Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with copper-gold highlights and rich mahogany edges.
Nose
Vigorous peat smoke anchors the nose, edged with medicinal iodine and coastal brine. Sherry cask influence unfurls dark fig, raisin and cocoa, while vanilla and toasted almond from the oak add warmth. Mineral, maritime notes weave through the aroma, leaving a refined, smoky impression that hints at decades in cask and Islay character grown to maturity.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied on the palate with an oily texture that coats the tongue. Aged peat and medicinal iodine rise with maritime brine, while sherry-cask sweetness of fig and raisin deepens the center, pairing with dark chocolate and espresso. Vanilla, leather and oak spice thread through the mid-palate, then a long, peppery finish of smoke, ash and cocoa linger.
Finish
Long, refined peat smoke lingers, threaded with coastal iodine and a hint of medicinal sweetness. Sherry cask maturity unfolds into dark fruit, cocoa, and toasted oak, finishing with velvety warmth, spice, and a saline kiss that drifts across the palate and lingers.
