Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-bronze highlights and a warm mahogany edge.
Nose
Powerful peat and iodine rise with briny sea air and mineral backbone. Medicinal notes drift above a sweetness of sherry—fig and raisin—woven with cocoa and toasted oak. Vanilla threads the smoke, resinous and long, revealing Islay’s coastal character in a bold, cask-strength embrace.
Palate
Oil-rich and powerful, this Islay delivers a torrent of peat smoke and briny iodine, tempered by saline sea spray and charred heather. A lush sherry-like sweetness threads through dark chocolate, dried fig and spice, with white pepper and clove sharpening the finish. At cask strength, the mouthfeel is velvety and warming, lingering in a long, smoky, medicinal aftertaste.
Finish
Long, peaty finish with iodine and sea-salt lingering, wrapped in sherry-soaked fruit. At cask strength, a warm, peppery blaze gives way to dark chocolate, fig and raisin, then a drying, mineral finish that slowly fades to a whisper of smoke and coastal brine.
