An independent bottling of Laphroaig from Ian Macleod under the "Chieftain's" brand. The ex-Bourbon cask yielded just 272 bottles of fine Islay Single malt following 14 years of maturation.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep golden amber with sunlit honey tones and a subtle copper glow.
Nose
Intense peated aroma of medicinal iodine and sea-salt brine, lifted by coastal smoke. Vanilla and honeyed barley from the ex-Bourbon cask mingle with subtle char and toasted oak, while a hint of citrus zest adds lift. Waxy, maritime peat that feels refined and lingering on the nose.
Palate
Oil-slick mouthfeel coats the palate as bold peat, iodine and sea-salt meet the Islay smoke. Bourbon vanilla and caramel emerge with citrus zest, while peppery spice adds structure, finishing long with coastal ash and lingering smoke.
Finish
Long, smoky finish with salt-laden peat and iodine carried by soft vanilla and toasted oak. Subtle sea breeze notes linger, evolving into a gentle sweetness and spice as the warmth slowly fades to a dry, resinous end.
