Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with copper-bronze highlights and a mahogany-tinged glow.
Nose
Ashy, sooty sweetness surrounds the classic Laphroaig medicinal core, with delicate floral lift. Herbal lozenge, kumquat, salted nuts and black bean sauce mingle with onions sweated in curry spices.
Palate
Sweet nutty-floral peat mingles with rich honeycomb, tarry liquorice and charred oak, amplified by BBQ ash, black nori seaweed and a hint of black bean sauce.
Finish
Sweet, salty and spicy all at once, with BBQ nuts and seaweed, chili flakes, wasabi rice crackers in soy, ashy-sooty peat, licorice, and chewy smoked salted honeycomb. A long, lingering finish.
