The Distillers Editions are an annual release of the finest single malts, double-matured in batches using individually prepared casks that have held a specially selected fortified wine, chosen to complement the characteristics of each mature whisky. Colour
Deep coppery amber with mahogany depths and ruby highlights
Nose
Peat smoke and sea spray lead the nose, braided with lush sherry-cask sweetness - dried fig and raisin, cocoa and toffee, a touch of vanilla and toasted oak. Complex, coastal, inviting.
Palate
Bold peat and sea-salt carry the palate, wrapped in lush sherry sweetness. Dried fig and prune mingle with dark chocolate, orange zest and toasted almond, while vanilla and spice lift the mid-palate. The mouthfeel is glossy and full, coating the tongue with warm, amber-like fruitiness. Finishes long with smoky peat, cocoa and lingering sherry sweetness.
Finish
An enduring finish of peat smoke and sherried sweetness, long and soulful. Dried fig, date and cocoa coat the palate, with espresso and spice unfolding slowly as warmth lingers, leaving a velvety, caramelized glow.
