Kyrö Distillery in Finland has crafted a stunning rye whisky by experimenting with cask finishes. Made from 100% Finnish wholegrain rye, this expression brings together rye and oloroso sherry in perfect harmony.
A combination of oloroso sherry, new American oak, and bourbon barrels adds layers of sweetness, with dried fruits and candied nuts enriching the rye’s natural spiciness. The whisky unfolds with notes of honeyed rye bread, raisins, and chocolate-coated nuts, followed by a warm finish of sweet oak and baking spices. Rich, deep amber with coppery highlights and mahogany undertones, a warm, tawny shade that hints at sherry-integrated elegance.
