Tasting Notes
Colour
Bright golden amber with warm coppery glints.
Nose
Peat smoke and sea spray rise from the glass, carrying citrus zest, vanilla, and caramel. Sherried dark fruit—prune and fig—soften the edge with cocoa and almond, while a mineral iodine note and warm oak lend depth and balance to this Islay dram.
Palate
Layered peat smoke interlaces with bright citrus, lemon zest and grapefruit, while a creamy vanilla from the bourbon casks lends richness. Sherry casks impart warming dark fruit notes—raisins and fig—and spice, adding depth to a silky, oily mouthfeel. A touch of maritime salt and soft ash underscored by persistent peat completes the palate.
Finish
Long, smoky finish with coastal peat and maritime salt lingering on the palate. Sherry-derived notes of dried fruit and cocoa weave through vanilla and spice, gradually fading to a warm, resinous ember.
