The original cask strength release in 2014 and bottled from just 35 Ex-Bourbon Barrels that yielded just 9200 bottles and bottled at 5 years old.

Natural cask strength of 59.2% Non Chill Filtered and natural colour.

Another lovely youthfull release from Kilchoman but one with attitude well beyond its years.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Greengages and gooseberry fruit, smoked apple skins, grassy and mossy peat smoke with peppery pear drops and a whiff of coastal sea spray.

Palate

Very clean and refreshing for a cask strength, lots of green fruit here (grape, apple, pear) aromatic peat smoke and vanilla wood spice.

Finish

Well balanced creamy peat smoke, green fruit and spicy oak.

Kilchoman
(kil-HO-man) Kilchoman was established by Anthony and Kathy Wills in 2005 at Rockside Farm on Islay’s west coast, becoming the first new distillery built on the island for more than 124 years. It remains independently family run, with the Wills family still closely involved in the business. Its farm distillery model is central to the site, particularly through the 100% Islay range, where barley is grown, malted, distilled, matured and bottled at Kilchoman.
