Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep mahogany amber with ruby-copper reflections and a warm, wine-dark glow.
Nose
Rich sun-dried raisin and plum give way to marzipan sweetness, with ripe fig and almond paste. Toffee and cocoa deepen the profile, while subtle leather and warm spice from the Spanish Oloroso cask linger. A polished, heady aroma that hints at the cask strength to come.
Palate
Opulent and velvety, the palate opens with raisin and fig, sharpened by almond marzipan. At cask strength it stays balanced, delivering dark chocolate, toffee and warm spice, with a soft oak underpinning. A long, luxurious finish of dried fruit and nutty sweetness.
Finish
Long, luxurious finish with dried raisin and marzipan lingering at the palate’s edge. Rich sherry oak folds in notes of fig and orange zest, while a warm, assertive glow from the high ABV persists, tapering to a refined almond-nut finish that slowly fades.
