Cask Strength Single Cask Distillery Bottling

Vinho is fully matured in used American oak wine barrels that have been toasted and recharred in a way that brings out fruity vanilla notes from the wood into the Whisky, overlaid on a delicate background of complex fruitiness.

It has a complex and multi-dimensional background of pepper, spice, dates and other fruits, such as ripe melon and mango together with kiwi and a delicate blend of bursting citrus fruits.

Nose

Warm vanilla from toasted American oak leads the bouquet, entwined with a rich fruit core of dates, ripe melon, mango and kiwi. Peppery spice threads through, punctuated by a citrus lift of orange and grapefruit—bright, multi-layered, with the wine-barrique maturity weaving delicate complexity.

Kavalan was founded in Yilan County in 2005 by King Car Group and is widely regarded as Taiwan’s first whisky distillery. The name comes from the old name of Yilan and the indigenous Kavalan people. Its first bottling, Kavalan Classic, was released in 2008, and the Solist range followed in 2009.
