Nose

Opulent Moscatel perfume: honeyed peach, orange blossom, and grape must mingle with dried apricot and sultana. Lush vanilla, toasty oak, and gentle spice of cinnamon and clove drift through a citrus zest lift, creating a richly fruity bouquet that hints at dessert-wine sweetness tempered by Kavalan’s pristine polish.

Palate

Opulent and velvety on the palate, this Kavalan Solist Moscatel-Cask pours a lush rush of dried apricot, ripe mango and candied orange, with honeyed sweetness and almond cake. Rich toffee and vanilla mingle with warming oak, while a bright citrus lift keeps the sweetness in check. The finish is long and silky, draping the palate with spices and sultanas.

Kavalan was founded in Yilan County in 2005 by King Car Group and is widely regarded as Taiwan’s first whisky distillery. The name comes from the old name of Yilan and the indigenous Kavalan people. Its first bottling, Kavalan Classic, was released in 2008, and the Solist range followed in 2009.
