Another wonderful new addition to the award winning Kavalan range from Taiwan that is aged in American white oak virgin casks and a selection of re-fill casks from the Kavalan archive of previous releases.

A rich and juicy caramelised white stone fruit malt with plenty of aromatic spiced oak and another beautifully made whisky from an ever increasingly impressive array of releases from this distillery.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Glowing golden amber with honey-gold tones and a subtle coppery sheen.

Nose

Golden syrup, pineapple upside down cake, plum sauce and butterscotch mingle with aromatic honey, peaches in syrup, orange blossom and incence wood spice.

Palate

Sweet and syrupy on the palate, it unfolds with aromatic spices, peach melba, honeycomb and butterscotch, balanced by demerara sugar, toffee apple, spiced plum jam and juicy sultana.

Finish

Orange blossom honey lingers on sultana bread toast, with spicy peach melba, apricot jam and aromatic oak.

Kavalan was founded in Yilan County in 2005 by King Car Group and is widely regarded as Taiwan’s first whisky distillery. The name comes from the old name of Yilan and the indigenous Kavalan people. Its first bottling, Kavalan Classic, was released in 2008, and the Solist range followed in 2009.
