Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery-gold highlights and mahogany undertones, a warm sherry-kissed glow.
Nose
Opulent nose of raisin and fig confit, with glazed orange peel and dried plum. Sherry spice blooms—cinnamon and a dusting of cacao—over velvety toasted oak. Beneath, whispers of tropical fruit and almond paste emerge from Kavalan’s sun-drenched maturation, lending a luscious, syrupy sweetness that promises a bold, fruit-forward profile.
Palate
Full-bodied and oily, the palate offers fig, prune and raisin with a bright hint of orange zest. Spices—cinnamon, clove and black pepper—mesh with rich oak and cocoa. Sherry warmth and high ABV carry a tropical fruit lift, finishing long with dark chocolate, leather and lingering dried fruit.
Finish
Long, opulent finish with waves of dried fruit—fig, raisin and date—paired with warm spice (cinnamon, clove) and rich sherry oak. Cocoa and walnut undertones unfold as the alcohol sweetness fades, leaving a lingering, resinous oak and a gentle ember of warmth.
