Deep amber with mahogany hues and coppery glints.

Nose

Opulent nose of dark raisin and dried fruit, lifted by marzipan sweetness. Hints of almond paste, toasted nuts and sherry-toffee mingle with subtle oak and spice, announcing the richness of this cask-strength Kavalan.

Palate

Opulent and concentrated, the palate opens with raisin and marzipan, evolving into dried fig, plum and orange zest. Toasted almond notes echo the sherry while vanilla and dark chocolate add depth. The 55.6% cask strength blankets the tongue with warm spice, leaving a long, luxurious, lingering finish.

Finish

Long, luxurious finish of raisin and marzipan, where sherry-rich sweetness lingers into almond warmth and subtle oak spice, leaving a velvety glow.

Kavalan was founded in Yilan County in 2005 by King Car Group and is widely regarded as Taiwan’s first whisky distillery. The name comes from the old name of Yilan and the indigenous Kavalan people. Its first bottling, Kavalan Classic, was released in 2008, and the Solist range followed in 2009.
